Remote Fly Fishing in Misty Fjords

Explore Alaska Charters offers guided fly fishing trips in Misty Fjords National Monument for both spin & fly fisherman. Our trip will begin with a majestic flight onboard a DeHavilland Beaver to one of the many pristine lakes in Misty Fjords.

Lake selection will be based on quality of fishing, scenery, and weather conditions. Every effort will be made to select lakes and streams that are not occupied at the time. In fact most of the lakes in Misty Fjords only get a handful of visitors per year. This is what makes the fishing so incredible, and the experience second to none.

Guided freshwater fishing trips include a licensed, and insured guide, safety equipment, rain jacket, and fishing equipment. Fishing equipment includes a fly rod (or spin casting rod), flies (or spinners), and Gore-Tex waders.

Zone 1 – Fly Out Fly Fishing: Includes lakes and streams in the heart of Misty Fjords National Monument. These lakes are further away from Ketchikan. As a result, they are more costly to access. As a general rule these lakes get much less traffic, and often have stronger fishing.

Zone 2 – Fly Out Fly Fishing: Includes lakes and streams just inside the Misty Fjords Nation Monument. These lakes are slightly closer to the Ketchikan area, thus are a little less expensive to access. These lakes also provide incredible fishing, and stunning scenery.

** Fish processing is not included for non package guests. Third party fish processing is available at an additional cost. Guests may also process their own catch.

Explore Alaska Charters is based in Ketchikan, Alaska, the “Salmon Capital of the World”. Ketchikan promises some of the most action-packed Alaska saltwater fishing for salmon and halibut you can experience.

Another advantage Ketchikan has over other fishing destinations in Alaska is the fact that we have both inside protected waters, and outside ocean waters. As a result, we can always find a great place to fish. Ketchikan is located in Southern Southeast Alaska. Ketchikan is just a 1 hour and 40 min flight from Seattle, Washington. Ketchikan is serviced by Alaska Airlines, and Delta Airlines.
